Re: riddles 'n stuff
Note: my previous riddle still hasn't been solved.
----------------------------------------------
Dr. Parnacious was called called in to investigate some symbols on a broken tablet believed to be left by aliens. Since these symbols were not part of any known language of hieroglyphics, some scientists smugly believed this to be irrefutable proof of an outside intelligent life-form. However, after looking at the symbols for only a minutes Dr. Parnacious was able to determine that not only were these not alien symbols, but could tell the scientists what the next symbol in the series was. How was he able to do this and what is the next symbol? (symbols shown below)

the road
A boy walks along a road on his way to school. then the road splits into two. He don't know what road leads to school. at both roads there's a boy. one of the boys always tell the truth and one always lies. He doesn't know who lies and who speaks truth. He can ask ONE boy ONE question. what does he ask to be 100% sure of the road when he get the answer?

You ask one guy:"Which way will the other guy recommend me?"
Then you ask the other guy:"Which road leads to the school?"
If the first one says: "He will recommend you the right way.", but the 2nd guy recommends you the left way, you know that the first one is lieing and so the 2nd ones speaks the truth --> left way leads to school
If the first one says: "He will recommend you the left way.", and the 2nd guy recommends you the left road, you know that the first guy spoke the truth, and the 2nd guy was lieing --> right way leads to school.
I guess that's the right answer

The one question is "Which way would the other person tell me to go?" You then go promptly the opposite direction.Bragdivald wrote:the road

Explanation: if one of them always lies, then no matter who you ask, you will end up with the wrong way. If you ask the one who lies, than he will say the opposite of the right way because he is lying about what the one telling the truth would say. If you ask the one who tells the truth, he would truthfully tell you that the other one would tell you the wrong path, and tell that path to you. Either way you get the wrong path and so you go the opposite direction.

"Which road would the other boy recommend?"
1-1: Right side is school, asking boy who lies -> A: Left
1-2: Left side is school, asking boy who lies -> A: Right
2-1: Right side is school, asking boy who speaks truth -> A: Left
2-2: Left side is school, asking boy who speaks truth -> A: Right
So in either case you just negate the answer you get.

Re: riddles 'n stuff
I got it:
7-3=4 (diagonal from left up to right down)
5-3=2 (middle up to middle down)
so it should be 1-3=? (diagonal right up to left down)
That means the ?=7
:3
