I've gotten lazy
Have you ever just felt lazy? I feel that way now. I just feel like I don't do enough with my life. Really, it's not even a fair statement, because I'm not being lazy. I just used to do so much more with my life, and it's been getting on me all day today, so I thought I would post about it.
I've been comparing what I do now to what I did in high school, specifically my Junior year (7 or 8 years ago). During that time, I did the following things:
Full-time high-school student
Full-time job
Part-time job
Volunteer work at my church running the audio and video
Created 2 websites
Ran one constantly evolving forum with many games
Distributed and managed server space for a few people
Vicariously taught a high school class on Macromedia Flash*
Constantly researched new technologies and software applications--testing out dozens of programs
Hacked into my school network
Hung out with my best friend, regularly
Played tons of video games and reviewed some for my website
Talked on AIM... constantly
Watched movies in theater every week
Edited and created video game sprites and critiqued others
Made a sprite-comic
Prepared to open own business (video game store)
* I would read a few lessons ahead in the book and learn how to do it. Then I would spend time with the teacher showing them how to do it so they could teach the class. I would then sit up front next to her and the projector to help her as she went along and make sure she got it right. -- Don't worry, she was fired.
Looking back at that, part of me feels lazy now but part of me just wonders where the hell I got the time for all of that! Also, I have ADD and was unable to concentrate on anything then. Anyway, after an event, all of that just kinda ended, and I've never been able to go back. I would like to be as productive now as I was then. Currently, I do the following:
Full-time college student
Moderate Transformice
Administrate a static forum
Moderate 2 other forums
Manage our tribe ^^
Occasionally play video games
Hang out with my girlfriend <3
Occasionally play board games
And that's it... I don't even have a job anymore... I feel like I should be doing so much more and learning and experimenting with so many more programs. I feel like I knew more then than I do now.
I guess the real question is how do I change this and make myself more productive. Hmm...

Re: I've gotten lazy
Love, if I had answer for you, I would have given it a long time ago. I haven't found the same for when I was in highschool - or college - or the military. It's a matter of availability and scheduling.
You can or can't fit it into your schedule. You are or you aren't willing to move EVERYthing around for something. You can or you can't move certain things. I lived by my day planner. It always defaulted to month by appointment so I knew the rolling appointments.
I am not sure any of us can get back to where we were when we had our parents help... until we have kids with schedules...then we give up all that to conform to them to make sure they have what we did - parents who didn't see their houses to make sure we did whatever we could.
I wish I could offer advise. I wish I knew the answer. SO I am watching this to see any advise or suggestions.

I have gotten that feeling too, where I feel like there is something I should be doing but to tell you the truth hanging out with my friends and going on "adventures" is what we call them, we just go exploring by rivers and through some forests and trails and stuff. Anyways that usually perks me up just going outside and exploring new areas and watching nature, also a new video game can do the trick for me too. :3
Edit: Hacking into your school network? That must have been awesome!

Well, I don't know how but I'm going to try to become more productive.
Things to do:
Read extra chapters for school
Level 2 World of Warcraft characters to 60 before month's end
Practice guitar at least twice a week
Actually play the games I bought

Re: I've gotten lazy
So do I True, I want to do more things.
For example:
-getting a six-pack and bigger bizeps
-change to a better football team that makes me play better (I'm the best in my team by far..)
-make another sport that isn't football like going to gym or/and playing tenis/basketball/floorhockey/badminton..
-create flash games
That are things I still want to do.
